Who are we?

Walnut Grove was blessed by a family in our congregation that stepped up to the role of foster parents and we shared their joy, laughter, tears and trials right alongside them.  Asking "What can we do to help?" was often answered with just a basic need being met.  Wanting to grow this beyond our doors, we began collecting clothing and children's items to offer to foster families.  Today, this has grown into a very well stocked boutique, and we have extended ourselves beyond foster families. Closet 14:29 loves to help any family what could be blessed by additional support.  This support is not always for economic hardship - often there is a health issue or tragedy that makes it difficult for a parent to provide needs for their children.  Most try to do it alone but we are here to help! Whether it is a pair of jeans, diapers, or just a safe place to "shop" without judgment - all are welcome at Closet 14:29.

Our name comes from Deuteronomy 14:29.  "And the Levite, because he has not portion or inheritance among you, and the stranger, the orphan, and the widow who are in your town, shall come and eat and be satisfied, in order that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.

We have not been called to feed or provide food, but we are able to meet some needs and share some love with clothing, shoes, hygiene items, and other basic needs of a child.

Closet 14:29 is a non-profit ministry of Walnut Grove Baptist Church.  We run solely on the support of the congregation and community - both by volunteers and donations.
